Question 1

How do I book a character for my event?

Accepted Answer

Simply use our booking form on the website or contact us directly by phone or email. Tell us your preferred date, character, duration and location and we'll check availability and provide a quote within 24 hours.

Question 2

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

We recommend booking 4–6 weeks in advance, particularly for weekend dates during peak season (April–September). That said, we do accommodate last-minute bookings subject to availability — so always get in touch even if your event is soon.

Question 3

What information do I need to provide when booking?

Accepted Answer

We need: your event date, start time, venue address, approximate number of children, age range, preferred character(s), and your contact details. The more detail you can provide, the better we can tailor your entertainment.

Question 4

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a deposit is required to secure your booking date and character. The deposit amount varies by package. The remaining balance is typically due closer to the event date. Full details are provided at the time of booking.

Question 5

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We understand plans change. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to reschedule — we will do our best to find an alternative date. Cancellation terms and deposit refund policies are set out in your booking confirmation.

Question 6

What happens if a performer is ill on the day?

Accepted Answer

In the very rare event of a performer illness, we will always work to find a replacement performer for your booking. We have a network of trained performers and our priority is always to ensure your event goes ahead as planned.

Question 7

Can I book multiple characters for one event?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Multi-character bookings are very popular. You can mix superheroes and princesses, or book a full superhero squad. Each additional character is priced individually — contact us for a multi-character quote.

Question 8

Do you offer package deals?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer a range of packages from short school visits to full 2-hour party sets. Visit our Packages page for an overview or contact us for a bespoke quote tailored to your specific event.

Question 9

Is there a minimum booking duration?

Accepted Answer

Our minimum booking is 30 minutes. However, for birthday parties we recommend at least 60 minutes to allow time for a complete interactive entertainment set. Shorter visits work well for nursery pop-ins and school surprises.

Question 10

Do you travel outside Essex and London?

Accepted Answer

Our primary service area covers Essex, all London boroughs and Hertfordshire. We can sometimes travel further for the right event — contact us to discuss your location and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Question 11

How do I pay for my booking?

Accepted Answer

We accept bank transfer for deposits and balances. Full payment details are provided in your booking confirmation. We do not currently accept card payments directly, but this is straightforward via bank transfer.

Question 12

Will the same performer attend every time I rebook?

Accepted Answer

We cannot guarantee the same performer for every booking as our team rotates, but we note any preferences and always aim to match the right personality to your event. All our performers meet the same high standards regardless.

Question 13

What age group is superhero entertainment best suited for?

Accepted Answer

Superhero entertainment works brilliantly for children aged 2 to 12. For children aged 2–4, we focus on gentle meet-and-greet and soft games. For ages 5–9, full interactive training academies and missions are hugely popular. Older children (10–12) enjoy more complex storytelling and competitive games.

Question 14

How many children can the entertainment accommodate?

Accepted Answer

A single character performer can comfortably entertain groups of up to 30 children effectively. For larger groups, we recommend booking additional performers or structuring the session into rotational zones. We have successfully entertained groups of 200+ children at corporate and community events.

Question 15

What venues are suitable for character entertainment?

Accepted Answer

We perform at private homes, church halls, sports halls, soft play centres, hotel function rooms, gardens, parks, school halls and virtually any space where children gather. If you can host a party there, a character can come to you.

Question 16

How should I prepare my children for the character's arrival?

Accepted Answer

We recommend building excitement by hinting that a 'very special guest' is coming without revealing exactly who. Have children seated or gathered when the character arrives for maximum impact. Avoid showing photos of the performer beforehand.

Question 17

What should I do to prepare the venue?

Accepted Answer

Clear a space for the entertainment — ideally an area at least 4x4 metres free of furniture. Have children ready and seated before the performer arrives. Keep the room slightly dimmed if possible for the entrance reveal. Make sure there's a clear path from the door to the entertainment space.

Question 18

Should I have food during the entertainment?

Accepted Answer

We recommend scheduling the entertainment session before or after food rather than during. Children find it difficult to participate in games and activities when eating, and food can create mess and distractions. The birthday cake ceremony is a perfect bridge between entertainment and food time.

Question 19

What if some children are frightened of the character?

Accepted Answer

Our performers are trained to approach all children gently and sensitively. If a child is nervous, the performer will give them space and time, never forcing interaction. Most nervous children warm up within minutes once they see others having fun. Please let us know in advance if a child has particular sensitivities.

Question 20

How long should a children's party be?

Accepted Answer

For ages 2–4, parties of 1.5–2 hours work well including entertainment, food and cake. For ages 5–10, 2–2.5 hours gives time for entertainment, games, food and socialising. For older children, up to 3 hours can work with a mix of entertainment and free time.

Question 21

What should I tell parents to expect?

Accepted Answer

Let parents know a professional character entertainer will be attending, the character type, and that the entertainer will lead all games and activities. Photos are always welcomed. Encourage parents to give children space to participate fully rather than hovering — children engage better when they feel independently brave.

Question 22

Can entertainment run outdoors?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly perform at outdoor events including garden parties, parks, community fetes and outdoor venues. We always have contingency plans for weather and carry portable equipment as needed. For outdoor summer events, shade is appreciated by performers in full costume.

Question 23

Do I need to provide anything for the entertainer?

Accepted Answer

Just a clear performance space and a group of excited children. If the session is over 90 minutes, a glass of water for the performer is always appreciated. For multi-character events, a private changing area is helpful. We bring all our own equipment, props and prizes.

Question 24

Which superhero characters do you offer?

Accepted Answer

Our superhero roster includes Spider Hero, Dark Knight, Ghost Spider, Captain Shield, Wonder Warrior, Iron Avenger, Man of Steel, Green Giant and more. Visit our Characters page for the full current roster. New characters are added regularly.

Accepted Answer

Question 26

What other character types do you provide?

Accepted Answer

Question 27

Are the character costumes high quality?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We invest heavily in premium, screen-accurate costumes sourced from specialist manufacturers. Every costume is regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained. When a child sees our characters, they should instantly believe they're meeting the real thing — and they do.

Question 28

Do the characters speak and interact, or just pose for photos?

Accepted Answer

All our characters are fully interactive. They are trained, professional performers who run games, lead activities, tell stories, perform dances and create a complete entertainment experience. They are in character from arrival to departure — not just for photos.

Question 29

Can I request a specific character?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We take specific character requests and will confirm availability when you enquire. Most popular characters are bookable with 2–4 weeks notice. For very specific requests, we may need more lead time to ensure the right performer and costume are available.

Question 30

Do you offer characters by special request?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We regularly accommodate special requests for characters not currently on our standard roster. Lead time and pricing vary. Contact us with your request and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Question 31

Can I book a character for a joint superhero and princess party?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely — dual character parties are extremely popular. Pairing a superhero with a princess ensures every child has their favourite present and creates twice the magic. Joint packages are available at a combined rate.

Question 32

What is the Superhero Team?

Accepted Answer

The Superhero Team is a multi-character package where two or more heroes appear together, creating a full superhero team experience. It's perfect for larger parties, corporate events and community celebrations where maximum impact is required.

Question 33

How do characters handle children's character preferences?

Accepted Answer

They stay fully in character throughout the appearance, responding to children's knowledge of the character, engaging with specific storylines and creating personalised moments that make each child feel they've truly met their hero.

Accepted Answer

A headline party set is a structured 45–90 minute entertainment programme led by the character — games, training missions, dancing, birthday ceremonies — with all children gathered together. Walkabout entertainment involves the character roving through the event, meeting guests and creating individual photo moments throughout the day. Many corporate events benefit from both.
